Earlier today, the body of Mike Struck was located in about 10 feet of water nearly 25 feet from where he had been working to keep the roads safe from flooding on 169 between Mankato and St. Peter. I used to use that road frequently when I lived and worked in Mankato. It is a dangerous stretch of road nearly anytime of the year from rock slides to flooding to hazardous ice and snow in the winter. Mike Struck was only 39 with a wife and two young children. His brother, 33, succumbed to cancer about three weeks ago.
No funeral arrangements nor funds have yet been set up. And, many were grateful that his body was recovered so quickly. I am sure that his family has at least that to be grateful for.

Another hero, who managed to probably save his own sister's life, then proceeded to save his basketball team. Sadly, it didn't end well for St. Cloud Apollo nor for Ibrahim Abukar. However, the young man was able to donate the much needed bone marrow for his sister Zam Zam.
To be able to donate blood marrow and play in a basketball tournament within 24 hours is an amazing feat. Kudos to him for his bravery on both fronts.
