Guilford Courthouse Battleground Park, Greensboro, NCYesterday was the grand opening of yet another feature of the Guilford Courthouse Military Park, known locally as Battleground Park.  The Nathanael Greene Revolutionary War Library is now open for business!

The Nathanael Greene Revolutionary War Library is located on New Garden Road directly across from the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park Visitors Center.  According to the News and Record, it is only one of two libraries in the Southeast which specialize in information about the southern campaign of the Revolutionary War.  It is open to the public and is hoped to be an excellent resource for local students, scholars and researchers.

If you've never visited the Guilford Courthouse Military Park, now is a great time to plan a visit to this Greensboro treasure.  The visitor center is free and has two great movies that explain the historical significance of the Revolutionary War battles that took place here.  There is also a small museum and a paved walking path so you can actually stand where the battles took place.  The approximately two-mile loop leads you through mostly wooded areas and features some challenging hills so it is very popular with walkers, runners and bicyclists.
