Did You Egg My Office?!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Leigh Ann Holman - Century 21 Glover Town & Country

I answered the office phone at 8:15 this morning.  On the other end was the familiar voice of an agent from another office.  Her name is Teresa and she's a peach!

She says "Do you have eggs all over your building?  And a bunch of signs from other companies laying around your parking lot?!"  She explained that two other offices in town had been 'egged' overnight and whoever did it pulled a bunch of real estate signs from listed properties and stuck them in their grass.

 Are These Your Eggs?!

I surely hadn't noticed anything strange when I pulled in, but I'm thinking I should stroll around the office and check things out...  We were safe!  No eggs anywhere and no signs randomly laying around.

THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FOR US!!  :-)  I jokingly told her I would drill my agents and find out which one did this and get back with her.

I just want to ask whoever did this to PLEASE egg my office next time, so that we don't look so guilty!!

I know... He's holding keys, but it's the best I have right now.Oh yeah! One more thing... Does anyone know how to get my text to line up beside my photos instead of only underneath them and above them?  Thanks!!

Sorry, I ran out of eggs just before I got to your place.

A couple of years ago I got a call from a nice lady letting me know that one of my signs was in her yard and asked me if I would please come over and remove it, and of course I told her I would be there by the end of the day.  When I got close to her house I saw that there were 20 to 30 signs in her yard from all different companies.  The things kids will do when they get bored.....

Boy oh boy- I cannot believe this would happen in Arkansas. Sounds like demented people to me?

Hmmmm, that all sounds VERY suspicious to me, Leigh Ann! :)  Re: your photo placement, it has to do with where you put the cursor in relation to the text.  Still not very skilled in this myself, I usually make the photos appear on the right side of the page and the text tends to line up the way I want it.

Who knows how or why the other offices got vandalized.  I am sure that they have contacted the police.  As many surveillance cameras as there are these days, there is a fair chance that someone somewhere has this on video somewhere...lots of signs means an open-bed truck of some type.

Good luck!

Be careful what you ask for... you may get it and have to wash eggs....

No, but seriously, that's horrible? And what did they do, go all over town collecting signs just so they could put them all over the parking lot?  Sounds like a high school thing to me!

Thank you, Billi!  I see posts all the time with the text just perfectly beside the photo and it looks so nice!  I'm just jealous that mine won't do that :-)

Jason, lucky is just what I'll consider myself!  Honestly, I didn't know egg would be hard to clean off.  I thought a person could just spray it with a water hose, but I can see that it might not be as easy as I suspect.

Roger, it was YOU!?! I'm gonna call and tell them now.  If I can turn you in, then it'll make me look good, right?  LOL!  And that is a funny story!  20 to 30 signs!!  They had a lot of time on their hands!  How nice of her to call and ask you to pick them up though...  The kids are on spring break here this week, so this wasn't actually a shocker.  They're just looking for something to do that makes their buddies laugh and think they're rebels :-)

Lori, these things usually happen around Halloween, but they felt it was a special occasion I think!  We're really a small town and these poor teenagers have nothing better to do, I suppose.

Lisa, I suspect the very same thing... Teenagers looking for trouble.  Some of the signs were actually ours, so I'm set to pick those up this afternoon.  Offering to help them put the signs back out is a fantastic idea.  I'm sure for now, I'll have lots of fun figuring out where ours go :-)

It does look awful, doesn't it Melanie?!  I have witnesses for my location all night :-)  As for everyone else, they're on their own!!  And thanks for the help on the pics and text... I suppose I'll eventually get this figured out!

Good point about the truck, Judith!  I'm thinking they've surely contacted the police and I'll update this if they ever confirm who did it.

Good advice!  I would enjoy the sunshine that comes with washing eggs, but not the labor.  I hate to sweat :-)  It really is horrible.  I admit that when she first told me, I laughed.  Isn't that awful?!  That might make me a bad person... But, in all honesty, I would laugh even if it happened to me.  What else can you do?..  Grab the water buckets and soap?!  If I were a bettin' gal, I'd bank on it being teenagers.  This week is spring break!

Yop! Sounds like a prank by immature people or someone wanted to get back at them... not nice! I am also looking forward to the answer on that pix/text line-up. I have tried so many times, myself!

Leigh Ann, have you tried the "appearance" once you insert your pic? There are two tabs: general and appearance. Once you click the second one, you can resize your picture, as well place it how/where you want it.

Hello again, Lydie!  It certainly wasn't very nice...  Joanna (below you) may be on to something with her comment...

Joanna, I'm going to have to go now and check this out... I have to find the "appearance" and that will start all of this because I'm not sure what or where that is.  Thank you for the advice!  It's much appreciated!!

I'm not too sure that I'd wish my own office to be egged just to alleviate the appearance of guilt. It's not easy getting hardened eggs off buildings.

Malcolm, I don't actually wish for that to happen :-)  That's just what I would say in a real conversation to be funny!  I'm happy to say that I've never had to get eggs off of a building.

Thanks for all the comments!!

Leigh Ann, Wow, what will they think of next?  It seems that it's always something, doesn't it?  Probably just some pranksters with nothing better to do.  Glad you got some good instruction on inserting photos into your posts.  It's pretty easy after you do it a time or two. Good luck!

Wow....never heard of a real estate office being egged before. Could be a disgruntled ex-client. Heard about an ex-client of a local real estate company who took it upon himself to create a sign, affixed it to his car, and drove around town. I wonder what happened to him. Maybe the lawyer of the firm threatened him with a lawsuit.
