February 2011 home sales trends are now available for El Paso, Texas and it was an OK month...but combined with a great January, El Paso's housing market looks quite steady.
There were 287 homes sold in February 2011 as compared with 363 sold in February 2010. The average sales price was $166,200 and there is currently a 6.5 month supply of available homes in the market.
Year to date - there have been 626 homes sold in 2011 versus 616 sold during the same time period in 2010. Keep in mind that during the 1st 1/2 of 2010 the homebuyers tax credit was still in effect which really helped to drive sales activity.
El Paso's job market continues to be steady and the housing market appears to be benefiting from growth at Ft. Bliss and the medical/university complexes. These factors help make it attractive for individuals and small businesses to relocate to El Paso.
