Our motorcycle gang meets for Burger Night on Thursdays at fun restaurants around the Houston area. We like to try different, off-the-beaten-path places that are family-owned with great food. This week we all went to Andy's Hawg Wild Bar-B-Que Restaurant in Pasadena.
One of our members called ahead to let the owner know that there would be about 15 people from the motorcycle group coming for dinner. The owner was a little concerned about the biker gang, and told her, "We don't serve beer." She just laughed and said, "That's great, because we don't drink!"
Andy's is located at 2826 Dedman Street (off of Spencer Highway) in Pasadena. Dedman Street is mostly residential, but keep looking to the West side of the street and you'll see Andy's.
I had the hamburger basket with a side of red potato salad. It was yummy and very filling! But one of our friends ordered several Armadillo Eggs, which were a big hit! The Armadillo Egg is a jalapeno pepper, stuffed with cream cheese, surrounded by spicy sausage, wrapped in bacon, and deep fried! Now that is mouth-watering! I took a bite and decided right away that I'm ordering Armadillo Eggs next time I go there!
The restaurant has an outside seating area that is kind of ranch-like in its décor. There is a small seating area inside as well, but when the weather is pretty it's really nice outside.
Andy's is a family-owned business. They are open only until 7 p.m., so you have to plan to get there early. They also do catering, so keep them in mind next time you have a big party planned!
This picture is of the motorcycle gang at Andy's. Don't let the leather vests, tattoos and beards fool you! We're really a mild-mannered group of teachers and principals (some retired), a retired police officer, several veterans, and even a pastor! And of course....a REALTOR!!!
