Priest Point Park in Olympia

Priest Point Park in Olympia WA - a great waterfront park just minutes from downtown Olympia.  Priest Point Park includes wooded nature trails leading down to its mile long saltwater shoreline; grassy play areas; wheelchair accessible playground structures; picnic areas; even a flower garden that has seen its share of wedding ceremonies.

Priest Point Park in Olympia

The name Priest Point Park comes from its history as a mission established in the mid 1880's by Catholic missionaries.  The missionaries cleared the area, planted a garden, built a chapel and operated a school for Indian youth of nearby tribes.  It also served as a trading center with the tribes.  Then in 1905, the City of Olympia bought the 314 acre property, and this jewel of a city park became a favorite for local residents and visitors.

Looks like a wonderful place to have fun and just relax.  The trees are majestic.

Hi Melanie - yes the trees are absolutely gorgeous and the trails down to the beach just feel like you have stepped far, far away from the hustle bustle and are enveloped in nature.
