No Flowers in My Yard Yet, But the Indoor Garden Continues to Cheer Me!

People keep asking if I have any flowers in my yard yet.  Thank goodness with yesterday's snow, the answer is "No," but things are starting to poke out of the ground, so hopefully within a week I will have an outdoor plant to photograph!

During the past week my oldest child's best friend was visiting from England with her incredible camera, and when I asked if she would photograph my indoor garden for me, she handed me the camera and said--"Here, you know how to photograph!  If you take the shot, you won't have to give me credit on your blog!"  Hmmm, is that the only reason I take pictures these days?

So before the clivia blooms drop off, I wanted to share some of the fun that I had (when I grow up, I want a camera like this!) . . .

Thanks for sharing your photographs. We were in Pinehurst, NC a couple of days ago and spring had arrived. The trees and flowers were beautiful.

 Life is good!

Hi Roy - I was in New Jersey last weekend, and there were buds on the trees and some places had daffodils blooming.  I didn't expect that!!

Hi Cindy - Thanks--the color in the house helps to remind me that there will soon be some outside!!

Hi Chris, Your indoor garden is great. I love these plants and glad with all your bad weather that you still get the magic of nature  inside.

Very vibrant.  I don't have any flowers, inside or out.  We probably won't plant anything outside until Mother's Day.  There's usually a threat of a frost until then (in these parts).

Chris,

You played with the camera and you got some GREAT photos! Every one is different from the next! I think those flowers loved all that attention you were giving them and your time and patience paid off! These are lovely flowers to look at!

With as long of a wait for spring, as you've had, you are hungry for it, and it's beginning to sound like any day now, you're going to see things in full bloom!

Be patient! Stay alert! Spring is coming!!!

Chris, your "indoor garden" is all about passing spring forward in a different. Given Mother Nature's winter of overdoing it with snow, she is probably just passing before sending us a spring to remember. By the way, it is the photographer (and not the camera) who makes images. Your talent works with any camera! Bonito!

Hi William - I am especially glad that the Clivia decided to go all out for me this year after such a miserable winter!  I really needed that while waiting for the outside gardens to start.

Hi Donna - The flowers that I am waiting for outside are the daffodils and crocuses.  I can't believe that none of my crocuses have bloomed yet--maybe they are just afraid that the snow really hasn't called it quits yet.

Hi Patricia - I spent some time in my gardens today getting them ready to start flowering.  They should be just about ready to hand over some color!

Hi Debbie - Yes, they are very cheerful flowers.  I can't believe how most of the plants in that pot are blooming at one time--never had this happen before.

Hi Emily - Thanks for your nice comments on my photography.  A super cool camera does make for some really neat photos when photographing moving targets, like the birds that I so enjoy!

Hi Toni - Unlike in Florida, these plants would be hard pressed to live outside in Connecticut at any time of the year.  They do like the window open during the summer, however.  : )

Hi Gloria - Thanks for mentioning me in your post.  I do love taking pictures--I just wish the flowers would start blooming in my yard.  They are easier to capture than birds!
