While sitting in traffic in Flower Mound off of Spinks Road and 2499 yesterday afternoon, I noticed my surroundings; after all, I had enough time to take up knitting! But I'm not patient enough for doing that, and I felt the need to keep moving. So I parked the car and started walking.
I left my car in the parking lot of Shadow Ridge School and I took notice of the earth beneath my feet and the quieter things in nature that takes their time to wake up after a winter's nap. The ground is dry, we need some rain, but the surrounding beauty gave me reason to pause...
I felt the warm gentle breezes of 85 degree temperatures in Flower Mound and green things were blowing in the wind.
The roadside looks so different when you are on foot and away from the cars that look like they are sitting on conveyor belts instead of driving. Here, I was lucky enough to see something that, ordinarily I would have missed, if I was just sitting there in my car, waiting for the traffic to move. Instead of pumping the breaks, my knees felt to the ground to show reference to this lovely and beautiful wild flower. It was just as happy as it could be and it made me smile for awhile...
In the short distance I saw something and immediately, I thought of an ActiveRain Blogger and friend, Rob Thomas from TN. If you know Rob, you'll understand why I got excited when I saw this old barn. The funny thing is, I've lived in Flower Mound for more than thirteen years and never noticed it before. So Rob, these are for you:

Oh thank Heaven! I finally found a constructive way to pass the time while there's road congestion. In sum, time passes quickly when you're having fun!
