Need Some Inspiration?

Need some inspiration?

The movie "My Run" is going to be showing around the country in select theaters as a One night only event on Thursday, March 31st.  The movie documents the story of Terry Hitchcock.  He lost his wife to breast cancer and struggled to raise his three children on his own.  In an effort to raise awareness of the incredible difficulties single parents face, he decided to do something incredible.  He ran 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days...I am in awe!  I ran a marathon...once....and I could hardly walk the next day, let alone run another marathon, and another...

I love the quote they have: "It is more than a film about a guy running multiple marathons, it is about the daily marathons we all run in life"

He says "I firmly believe human beings can accomplish anything they put their minds to that nothing is impossible".  I am dragging my family to go see this movie, while we are on vacation, to inspire them and me!  I can't wait!

Karin

It sounds as if he found an effective way to handle his grief , even if it was a bit extreme.

Hi Beth~ I hope as many people as possible see this movie... I just can't believe someone could do that.

Laura~ In the trailer he calls everyone "to be someone's hero"  That so touches me!  Grief can crumble and destroy a person, but he turned it into something!

Hi Karin, Nice post.  I can't even imagine...But it really does show that when there is a will there is a way to make it happen.

Sounds interesting.  How did he find the time?  Something had to give and I will be interested in that part as well.

I only ran when we were forced to in high school p.e. I once walked six miles and that was enough to convince me that I definitively wasn’t running 26.2 miles!

Hi Gwen, I'm late on commenting because I went on vacation... I watched the movie and he was totally determined to acheive his goal!

Laura~ I know, right!  75 days to run?  must have quit his job or something!

Jim~ Running is more fun when you choose to do it instead of being forced to run in PE! LOL!

Hi Adam, It was apretty good movie.. a great story!

Hi Karin,

I'm glad to read that you saw the movie and that you liked it.  I hadn't heard of it so thanks for the info.  I don't get to see movies very often but will definitely rent it if I don't get to see it at the theater.  It really does sound inspiring!

Hi, Karin,

I remember his story.  What an amazing way to show your children that life goes on and a great salute to his dear wife.

Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Karin,

Thanks for the heads up.  But 75 marathons in 75 days?  Who was taking care of the children?
