Finally!! A Chino Hills handyman who actually returned my call -- and got the job done!
After nearly two weeks of googling varations on the "Chino Hills handyman" theme -- and getting nothing but disconnected phone numbers, full message boxes, and unreturned calls -- I located a service that put me in touch with Vincent at 100 Percent Mr. Fix It. Fast, responsive, and reasonably-priced service: what a concept!!
Here's why I needed a Chino Hills handyman: I live in a condo complex that still has wooden garage doors, and the frame along the top had split, presumably from the strain of lifting its own weight. The door was too unstable to risk opening it to pull my car in or out, so I had to park on the street quite a way up the hill from my unit. That's inconvenient, to say the least, because I leave my house around 5am every day, carrying my purse, laptop, coffee, breakfast, blazer, change of shoes, and sometimes an umbrella. Fun, right? -- and then when I get home I have to carry it all back in again!
So even though it was a major inconvenience for me, from a Chino Hills handyman perspective it was a small job. I know Vincent didn't stand to make much of a profit, but I couldn't have asked for better service. Having prior commitments to other jobs, he arranged to get my work done in a couple of days -- which he did -- AND he called to keep me posted with the status of his schedule and the availability of a part he needed.
