Ask Me Why I'm Different!

Hey Chris:  How well Zillow works may be particular to a certain part of the country..or even to certain zip codes. I am a premiere agent and I'm slammed with leads. Shocking, isn't it!!!  Who would have thought.... I can say most of the leads are first time homebuyers. You have to respond quick to their emails or phone calls and get them preapproved FAST!  Yes, some weeks you have to show many of them the proverbial internett door, but overall, it has been a super buy for me.

So let's confuse the issue (sorry, David) - I would say, DON'T EVER PAY FOR LEADS.  While there may be some exposure, the leads that you get from any company that is in the business are generally people who are not necessarily looking or ready or qualified or even looking to purchase a home.  If statistics are saying that 99% of people who buy homes are now going to the internet before they contact a Realtor, there are an awful lot of people looking at real estate online.  So often the 'leads' that you get are people who double clicked on a listing and that is considered a 'hot lead.'  I have been burned often enough with no return on investment, I would NEVER recommend that someone pay for any kind of service like this with the hope of making money.  For the most part, I have never known it to work for anyone that I know.  But that is just MHO . . .

I guess it's fair to say, each location or zip code has it's ups and downs. I appreciate the honesty here on activerain.

One of my residential partners is on there as a premier agent and gets tons of leads. Actually he gets so many he passes them off to other agents because he cannot handle them all. I think if he actually tracked the results of the leads, most of them are not quality leads that close.
