This lender just might get my business.

Open house again today. I had a couple come in to the model home just shortly after I opened and asked if they could see the house next door. We spent several minutes in the 2nd property and concluded our meeting with the polite hand shake "we'll get back to you" routine that happens so often.

Upon walking these folks back to their car, I noticed another vehicle had pulled up to the model home.  So I politely said my "good-byes" and went to see who had stopped in.

When I entered the model I was greeted by a lender with a big smile and hand shake.  She had her company badge on so there was no guessing what she was all about.

I suddenly noticed a brown paper bag next to my lap top that had something written on it.  I asked her if that was meant for me and she said "you bet".

The words written on the paper bag were "Open House Survival Kit."  Inside was a can of pop, an energy bar and her business card.

She apparently has been doing this kind of thing for quite some time, but was expanding out into a different part of her market getting to know other agents.

I thought that the idea was quite cleaver, and told her so.  What a great way to make new customers.

Creativity does still pay.  Especially with this market, you sometimes have to think outside the box.

That is some very clever work on her part. Kudos to her. Hopefully she fights as hard to close the loans as she does to get your attention.

Larry: That's good to know. I wonder if women are more creative about this sort of thing. I have to admit I am always there for realtors and try to be as helpful as possible. But I fall down on the creativity side. Oh well. Maybe I need to hire a female assistant. Lol!
