Azaleas in Cary NC!

The Azaleas are here!  The Azaleas are here!
It's that time of year again, when all of Cary lights up with Azalea blossoms.

Bridgeton Park, Raleigh NC 27612

Some folks will tell you they are over used, but I'm not so sure.  I'm not at all sure that azaleas can be overused.
The visual impact of masses of azalea blossoms, mixed with flowering dogwoods, and a host of other currently blooming ornamentals makes me even more confident that, at least when it comes to azaleas, the more the merrier!

Just a few of the azalea photos I have collected in Cary over the last few springs.  With a little luck in timing, I will be able to do as well this year and add some photos to my collections.

Hi Mike, Beautiful photos and I particularly like the butterfly. These are some of my favorite flowers. when I lived in Dallas the Azaleas are really really big there and I loved the masses of them. Too hot where I live in the summer and though I tried to raise them but they just didn't like the heat.

Mike- Beautiful photos. I have to say, I don't think we have those here in Coloarado. If so, I haven't noticed any that pretty!

William,

High praise!  Thank you.

Kristi,

Thanks!  A thick hedge of azaleas is a sight to behold.

Richard,

Must be about time for the PGA Masters.

Steve,

I think winters wear us out a little more every year.  We DO like Spring.

Mike, your photos of the azaleas are just beautiful!     With that many colorful flowers, it must smell fabulous!   I think color adds a lot, I would agree, the more the merrier!

Mike -- I just love those vibrant pink azaleas.  I have had them since I was a kid, but in recent years had to finally give up because the deer love them more.  Nice to see vibrant colors. We're still pretty grey here. One more month....

Joan,

Throw in the Dogwoods, Redbuds, and various other ornamentals, and this is the most colorful time of year in the Triangle.

Larry and Sheila,

You have something to look forward to!

Jim,

I got nice and chilly on a walkthrough today.

Barbara,

When you start looking, the variety of colors of azaleas is wonderful.  We are having the tail end of winter gray here today.  I'm ready for sunshine.
