Moose Monday - CAPITAL Moose!

By
Education & Training

A couple of weeks ago I visited Ottawa, the capital of Canada and little and behold I found moose.

It is not the real kind which I was lucky enough to photograph in Montana but I was very surprised to run across them...

Here is a closer look at two moose (on the wall) between the entrance doors to greet visors.

So naturally, I decided to take a peak inside and what is the first thing I noticed in the lobby of the museum?  Another moose this one on the mosaic tile floor!

I guess nothing can be more welcoming to the Canadian Museum of Nature than CAPITAL moose!

Thank you for visiting and seeing moose!  :)

A moose mosaic? Only in Canada. That is a very impressive museum Gerry, it's a must-see for people visiting Ottawa. I hope you had a good time there and didn't freeze your butt off.

Hi Gerry, that is a beautiful building - and of course there would be moose for you to add to your collection :-) The mosaic artist did a terrific job...all those little pieces are amazing!  Happy Moose Monday Gerry - have a great week.

WOW - That is a rather elaborate moose too.  Someone made the painstaking effort to create one as a mosaic.  When I saw the first photo, I thought you had found a Moose Lodge:-)

Gerry, those are great decorations!  You have to love it when an architect can incorporate moose into the design of a building!  That is talent!

I love all of the architectural details in this building. And the two moose on the front seem to fit right in!

Hi Gerry - As a taxpayer of our great land, I was very pleased to ensure that your visit to Bytown (that's the old historical name for Ottawa way back when) was complete with some moose!!! ;)

Had you been there there on Thursday, you could have witnessed the fall of the government in person and if you were there on Friday, you would have seen the start of the election.  C'est la vie!

C"est la vie, oui, oui!

I am less into politics and much more into hockey (Go habs Go!) to be honest this time of year... :-)

I was smiling when I found out they moved the French debate ahead by one day because Les Canadiens were playing on Thursday.

Very cool moose photos Gerry.  I love visiting Ottawa.  Where are you????  Haven't seen you around AR lately.  I was a little spotty for awhile but took on the May 31 day challenge and am getting back into high gear.

I hope you are keeping well and busy.
