When was the last time you did the right thing even if it meant losing something special? When was the last time you put somebody else’s goals in front of your own? In April 2008 a woman’s softball game between Western Oregon University and Central Washington University that meant nothing to most people was played. The results of the game are not nearly as important as the lessons learned.
The following video is only about six minutes long and should be a lesson to all. I hope you do the right thing and watch it, you might want to have some Kleenex handy when you do.
Nice video Joe! What a good story. And so amazing from a competitors perspective.
Good morning, Joe....thank for the heads up about the kleenex.....very emotional video....that was great.
Ron- Nothing wrong with standing up, nothing wrong at all.
Navona- And all compete especially in this business.
Barbara- Don't mention it. I'm always happy to share.
My husband had me watch the Sportscenter replay when this happened a couple of years ago. What a testimony these girls displayed and it shows that doing the right thing is always the right way.
Anita- You are right again.
Scott- You're welcome, this was my first time seeing it.
I love this story and saw it again on Facebook just yesterday. "When was the last time you did the right thing even if it meant losing something special? My mom drilled this into my head from a very early age. No matter if you will be embarassed, get into trouble, or lose something, always do the right thing. I didn't know it at the time but my mom was a pretty smart cookie. I was recently blessed when my own daughter, who has heard this from day one as well, recently applied it in a difficult situation. :)
Jim- Sounds like your daughter is in good hands
Alan- Thanks, it is.
Melissa- Anytime
Loyd- Yes sir it is, thanks for stopping in
Gay- I watched it a few times and needed one each time. I'm a softy.
I'd say it was a class act by some classy girls! I watched it with my 9 year old and as the girls rounded third base she said, "But mom, those girls are from the other team". I told her yep, that's why it was so extra nice. It was funny watching her expression change when she finally "got it"...
Hello Joe and I have to agree with the others, great video, great moment and some great gossip! Featured at one of my favorite groups at AR ...
Vegas Bob ... ;o)
Joe,
Great video, thanks for sharing, if more people would just do the right thing, think what a great world this would be.
