Is Monthly SEO Service a Bad Idea?seo montly services

This really should be addressed because it's full of controversy and intrigue... OK, maybe not intrigue but it can be a hot topic of discussion. I have heard it both ways from a variety of SEO companies and individuals that monthly SEO fees are ridiculous and should be avoided at all costs. I am not here to give you the right answer either way but will give you some tips to keep in mind when researching monthly SEO services.

1.) It all depends on what that monthly SEO service does for you! If you are heavily involved in your website, blog and creation of your online presence you may not need any type of constant monthly SEO service but simply a coaching of how to do it yourself. Given the right tools, you can soar beyond your competition and create killer blogs and pages. If you're reading this, you may be one of them!

2.) Maybe you just need a solid foundation built for you then you can take the reins from there and go crazy with your online presence. I would strongly suggest that if you are unaware of how to build that solid foundation to get started that you have an SEO professional do this for you. You don't want to waste your valuable time setting up something incorrectly that's not going to work hard for you. But once you are setup properly, the skies the limit! You can blog, add listings, write content to your hearts content! (yes, play on words intended)

3.) But what if you don't know where to start, and really don't have the time to learn every SEO nuance that comes up? This may be where monthly SEO Service will work for you. But again, let me stress what that entails. Ask, Ask, Ask before spending hundreds if not thousands on monthly SEO Services. The SEO company could tell you they are doing 1800 things a month for you that sound important and necessary and they may not actually be doing anything! What you need on a monthly basis is typically link building and content writing. Constantly submitting your site to search engines month after month could possibly get your site banned. There are a few directories that can help such as DMOZ.ORG which is super tough to get into anyseo companiesway. But the best help you can get is monthly article building on optimized content.

If you want to focus on your real job - REAL ESTATE - you may not have time to research and construct a well-optimized blog post or community / local article for your website. This is time consuming and tedious and you need to focus on real estate - mortgage loans - appraising - inspections - home repair, whatever you really do!

So is monthly SEO services a wash? It depends on your situation, your involvement and your personal commitment to your online presence. Personal SEO offers all types of assistance for whatever your level of involvement needs to be. From coaching, set up, occasional article writing or monthly SEO service we can help be your business solutions provider.

Tammy, I think my goal will to grow my real estate business so that by this time next year,it will be most profitable for me to pay for some level of SEO service.  Of course, I'd still blog some.

I have never used a SEO firm so I guess I can only comment on the self method but I have an hour a day in my schedule devoted to SEO and working to keep my websites maintained and running smooth. I get offers all the time but in less than a year I was number 1 in Google for my keywords so I guess there are other places I can put my money. Depends on how comfy you are with learning yet another new trade. lol. Best of luck.

John - yup! Aren't we all! Thanks

Sondra - Thanks again for the subscription! You seem to be doing and excellent job. Keep it up

Randy - Many agents just don't want to bother with even 5 minutes a day much less an hour. So I think you've got the right grove going. If you've got clients, you must be doing something right :) Thanks for the comments.

Tammy, you know well that the only monthly SEO fees I subscribe to for my clients, since they are WordPress (SEO automated), is help with ongoing SEO blogging. A blog requires "effective SEO blogging" at least two time a week and three time a week for the first 90 days to kick it of and get propagated in the index.

Tammy and I have worked together on several website projects and she is the only other person I would recomend other than myself for content services. I get slammed with work and can not do it all and Tammy is a blogging pro par none. She gets five stars in my book so if you are too busy doing what you do best - selling real estate and closing deals, give her a call. Thank you Vic! I know you have strong opinions on that and glad you weighed in on this since we have discussed it a couple times. THank you for your comments! I hope bloggers read it as well! :) Luvs

Great post that gets a nudge from me.  Like Debbie, I like your objectivity in this post.  I'm considering a makeover to my WP blog but haven't got off the snide yet and put a new plan in place.

Tammy...another great post that explains all of the different options & choices.  I hung up on a salesperson today trying to get me to the top of Google.  I'll just keep reading your posts & blogging to stay at the top of Google!

Thank you ANita!  I wanted to present it that way and yet offer an option. So many agents just don't have the time nor the energy to do what you all do on a daily basis.

Christine - I am not a fan of the phone in general... I'm sure there is a phobia for that... HA... but I would rather put what I do out there and let the stats decide... my site,... not so much... my clients? They rock! And that's all I care about! :)

Tammy,

Excellent bundle of information.  The key is, having accountability.  Any SEO company needs to be able to provide an accurate account of what they do AND, show results.

Don, thats right. If the client can check their analytics report and see a difference, this also helps :)

Tammy - It is a struggle to find the right common ground between working on Real Estate and working on building on line profile through blogging etc.  I imagine it will be something I look into once I get more established.  I like the do it yourself method, but there is only me and I can only do so much!
