Realtors(R), Home builders, and Property Investors, do you know how important your pictures are?
I am not any of the above mentioned but am a home stager, and I know how important it is to have pictures in the listing that are fantastic. I am constatanly looking at my local MLS listings because I truly love to look at homes and what they look like. I am appalled at some of the pictures that I see posted. I see homes that need painting, cleaning, de-cluttering..... I see dirty laundry on the floor, dishes in the sink, toilet seats up, slippers out, and cats and dogs laying on the furniture, in some of these pictures. A little hint and tip, home buyers may own animals, but they do not want to see or smell your animals while viewing your home!
Buyers will spend up to two weeks searching the Internet for their next home purchase. Home buyers will then compile a list of about 10 homes they want to view. Do you think your home will make that list? The only way you can guarantee being on that list is to have your home professionally home staged. It can be as simple as a home consultation where a home stager will give advice on how to de-clutter, and prepare the home for listing on the market. In a vacant home a home stager will deliver and stage principal rooms to allow your potential buyers to feel an emotional connection to that home, because in the end that is what they are looking for....and what we as Home Stagers, Realtors(R), Home builders and Property Investors are trying to deliver to them....
With that said why there are homes listed without having any home staging done is beyond me!! I get very frustrated and I think by posting bad pictures, the home sellers have a huge dis-advantage especially when their home is being compared to professionally staged homes.
Studies show that staged homes will sell for faster and more money than homes not staged. That is why I believe that hiring a professional home stager will save you money, time in advertising for the home, and will guarantee that the home listed will show at it's optimum best.
