 A Dahlia For You!

If you follow my blogs, you know that I post lots of flower photographs. Some of my friends have asked for tips on how to get good flower pictures.  I find many opportunities on neighborhood walks during the spring and summer. However, if you want to see the best looking flowers, attend some of your local and regional flower shows. Then, you will have the chance to photograph the flowers that are winning the awards.

This dahlia is a nicer bloom than you will find in most of the neighborhood gardens and the colors are wonderful. Always have your camera in hand to capture the colors of the moment.

Roy...good of you to post those tips for us; your flower photos are fantastic.  I love the dahlia as a flower that can stand alone in the perfect container.  Your photo of the russet-orange one today is wonderful. You have a great week.

Good evening and thanks for your comments.  Dahlias are very good for photographs.  They are grown in many shapes and colors. I am not a gardening expert and will leave gardening advice to others.

Roy, you do take beautiful pictures of flowers! The most beautiful flowers I have ever seen were on the north east coast in the summer. I wonder if Dahlias do well in the Houston humidity?

Roy, Your photos are wonderful of these Dahlias.  When I lived in Seattle a while back there were places on the University of Washington campus that had dahlia gardens.  I had never seen so many together in one place before.  Beautiful flowers.
