Bay Area Market ... Bank-Owned and Short Sale Properties For Sale In Orinda and Lafayette

Orinda and Lafayette are two of the most beautiful communities in the Bay Area.  They combine small town appeal, great schools, and easy access to Oakland, San Francisco, Walnut Creek and Napa Valley.  My better half and I enjoy Friday dinner at Yankee Pier (her business is conveniently across the street), Sunday morning brunch at Chow, walking around the reservoir on a breezy afternoon, and taking in a movie at the intimate Orinda Theatre.  The California Shakespeare Theatre (Cal Shakes) produces modern versions of classic Shakespeare at the nearby Bruns Amphitheater, a great place to picnic and enjoy outdoor theater on warm summer nights.

There are many homes on the market in the area, including bank-owned (REO) or short sale (SS) properties.  Although home prices in these communities are generally high, deals can be found.  Here are bank-owned and short sale properties offered for sale under $1,500,000 as of today (March 29, 2011).
