So, How many of us dread being stopped by the police while having a client in the car? Well, yes it happened. Early morning start and looking at a big day ahead. And what do you say? "I'm so sorry officer, I'm rushing my client to one of 25 houses that we will see today before she flies back home." "What, what STOP sign?" "No, I haven't had too much coffee this morning, why do you ask?" "How much is the ticket?!!" AARRGGHHH! So, as I eat my slice of humble pie, and try to reassure the client that I am a very good driver, I try to refocus and move on. Move on, Move on. And then, we joke about it the rest of the day and it becomes something I can now bond with this client over. I'm thinking about inviting her to my court appearance...LOL. What's your story?
Hey, everybody runs that same stop sign...you're the one that just got caught! You wipe out the bad luck early in the day and that leaves nothing but good luck ahead!
Haven't had that issue yet. Did you get a copy of the plane ticket? Tell the judge your client enjoyed the area even with the delay! Hope you got a contract out of it.
Mike,
I think about tickets each week during our office caravan of new listings. "Speed limits optional" is the apparent motto!
Good point: show your sense of humor about stuff, condition of the house, etc., and bond with your clients. I tend to wrestle with keys when I show homes, so I let them know my "problem" and frequently they're laughing and helping when I do run into a sticky lock. Make lemonade!
Mike - Here's betting she never forgets you! Welcome and keep sharing you memorable real estate events.
It hasn't happened to me yet Mike. I'm sure the client will not forget you either. Good luck with the client and welcome to ActiveRain.
Found you via Gerry in Gettysburg. Welcome, this is a great site with wonderful people.
Thanks Everyone!
Carla, I guess it I don't laugh at it, no one will. It was funny!
Randy, Spoken like a true policeman! In fact that was the same thing my buddy from an adjacent police force said! And yes, I beleive that cleared the day for only good luck to happen! Thanks
Gerald, Good defense ideas. I hope I get a contract out of it as well!
Irene, Just another story to pass along during those caravans! And STOP at those stop signs! See you next week at Raincamp!
Lisa, I Love Lemonade! Thanks for the reminder!
Norma, I guess it's like that 15 minutes of fame. You never know when & where!
Jim, I hope she remembers me for the agent work as well as my driving experience.
Paula, Thanks!
Thanks for reposting Gerry! Your right. I posted my second blog already! See you in AC!
Liz - Any friend of Gerry's has to be a good person. Thanks for the support.
