Mt. Hood Town Hall Revival
The town hall in the small town of Mt. Hood, Oregon (15 minutes south of Hood River) has been standing for almost 100 years, built in 1914. The building has been through several revivals, first serving as a school, then a church and finally a community center for "Upper Valley" residents. Through decades of dedication, the center has been maintained and improved by residents of the valley. In 1987 the Town Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Now, here's your chance to help. Join your neighbors at the Mt. Hood Town Hall on Saturday, April 9th, for the "Enchanted Evening", 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. The evening will inlcude live music by Lolo Mo, a silent auction, dinner with desserts, and local wine and beer.
The fundraiser is part of a huge effort to raise $10,000 to complete the planned resortation before the Hall's 100 year anniversary in three years. Currently the hall is home to events like catered dinners, weddings, community events, preschool, Tai Chi lessons and so on. Visit the Mt. Hood Town Hall website for details on improvements and all the center's current uses.
