City of Norco

The City of Norco is seeking sponsors for their patriotic banner program.  The banners, a way to show Norco's appreciation for the soldier's service,  will be displayed on Sixth Street for a three month period - either May through August, or August through November.  Sponsors may honor a soldier who's hometown is listed as "Norco, CA" and either is currently is serving or has previously served in the Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard, Army, or National Guard.  The 36 banner locations are available on a first come, first served basis.

While the City of Norco is directing this program at loved ones of the soldiers to beSixth Street Banners Norco, CA honored, it would be great to see some local businesses support our troops by sponsoring a $90 banner on behalf of a local family.  The banners will be returned to the sponsor to keep after their display period, and of course, if sponsored by someone outside the family, can be passed along to the family as a keepsake.

Applications for the banners can be downloaded from the City of Norco website, and are due by April 14, 2011.  This is the second year that Norco will display the patriotic banners, and is a great way to keep our local service men and women on our minds and in our prayers.

I have 2 ?s.... my dad resides here in Norco and has for many years now. He is retired from the USMC and I would like to honor him. I lost out 12 yrs of my life with him and now that I am older I am trying to show him how much I love him everyday. Can I please buy a banner for him - he would be in tears if he were to see it.

2ND ? - it may sound off the wall but I'll ask anyway and maybe this will end up good. Today I met someone that visited our yard sale and he too was a marine and recently purchased a home here in Norco or nearby California Ave from what he told us with some land. I think that he actually said that he bought it in Riverside but not sure. I know what he drives and where he works but I did not get his name. Is there somehow that I can find out who the locals are around here? We had such a great conversation but I think that we both were toooooo nervous to exchange names.

Can you help?
