Are You Ready to PLAY BALL?

Tomorrow's the day! Major League Baseball gets down to business! For them it's time to finally get serious because now those Wins and Losses in the Standings really start to mean something! They put on their game face, lace up the cleats, grab their favorite bat and take a few swings. They can be the hero or the goat depending on the outcome!

For REALTORS®, we've got our walking shoes on all the time, our trusty smartphone, laptops, iPads and other tools ALWAYS at the ready, primed to respond to our clients' needs at any moment. We've got to be the hero EVERY time, can't afford to be the goat. They're counting on us for the biggest financial transaction they'll make for quite some time. Batting .333 in our league doesn't make us superstars, it makes us ex-REALTORS® punching a clock somewhere in a 9-5 job.

We've got to be flexible, have a wide variety of tools and techniques, be able to make adjustments on the fly....and all without letting anyone see us break a sweat! We might feel like we're within a hair of going Mt. Vesuvius on someone....but we pull it back in, because it's not about us, it's about taking care of our buyers and sellers!

And unlike that batter that knows he's hitting in the clean up spot, we NEVER know when are next time in the batter's box will be! But when we get the call, if things go right, we might just keep going and take our competitor's spot in the order too :)

So are you ready to PLAY BALL?

I have always been a baseball fan ever since I was a little kid. I know some people who think it's way too slow, but to me, there's just something special about the game of baseball, especially going in person. I had season tickets to the Indians for a long time but just couldn't stand writing that check when our owners refuse to improve the team. Nothing worse than cheap owners.

Kay, Sounds like you might be hanging a pennant in your office by the end of the year!

Dan, I've been a Braves fan since really young...growing up in the South and watching TBS how could you not be? Then 20 years in Cincy, love the way the current owner is developing the team. A great use of scouting and developing within. Baseball always looks so easy on TV....but then you watch a game up close and realize just how CLOSE the pitcher's mound is to the batter and it's amazing anyone can hit a heater in the high 90s!

Dorie, We've been watching all your Just Listed and solds....you're definitely having a great year! Circle the bases again :)

Michael, Amazing isn't it? A sport where you can fail 2/3 of the time and still be one of the best in the game :)

Roger, Reds opener is HUGE deal here. Day long celebration event basically, parade, etc. There will be a whole bunch of people missing from their "real" jobs today!

Roger, No, not me! Haven't been to an Opening Day in the 20 years here. Tickets are of course scarce. Although I enjoy watching baseball, we only go to a game about once every couple of years. Used to go much more, but real estate takes up quite a bit of our time, and combine with the day job, the opportunity just isn't there very often.
