Big Canoe Residents

Turkeys in Spring ColorIt must be Spring. How do I know? The picture above tells the tale. This is the second time I have been treated to this wild life scene in Big Canoe. This time I think the Tom is a little confused as the other Turkey in the picture is a Tom as well.

People ask why you see them near roads. The reason is simple they like to scratch their feathers on the road . Apparently the noise is like Frank Sinatra singing to the Hens. The community of Big Canoe is a great place to sit back relax and enjoy life in. Click here for more information on the great community of Big Canoe

I'll bet you don't see any turkeys around in November...around Thanksgiving.

That Tom certainly has the old 'Dig me' thing going on doesn't he?  Kind of similar to peacocks I suppose.

Charlie, That is a great photo!  We get to see Turkeys every once in awhile, but seldom do we see the Toms with their tails feathers all fanned out!

Interesting tidbit about them scratching their feathers on the road. Maybe hunters should bring a little Sinatra on their iPods this fall.

Charlie, It is not everyday that one gets to see such a display and you have seen this 2 times recently.  You are in the right place at the right time.  Thanks for the trivia too about the road.

FEATURED in BIRDS Group!

Have a great weekend.
