Do you like orchids?

If you like orchids, this is the time of the year to visit local and regional orchid shows and sales. In Maryland, we were fortunate to have the Maryland Orchid Society Show and Sale at the Maryland Home and Garden Show at the Timonium Fairgrounds. You may be surprised by the variety of available orchids. They are grown in many colors and shapes.

If you want to polish your skills as a flower photographer, taking hundreds of pictures at the shows will give you the practice that is needed to identify the best angles and lighting. One of the nice things about digital photography is that you do not have to worry about the cost of film and it is easy to delete the photographs that do not turn out well. I'm always looking for the shots that make me think "wow" when I view them

Roy, Yes I like orchids!  They are so varied in color and beauty.  They look delicate yet they are strong flowers.  I tend to like the smaller ones.  But heck I really enjoy them all!
