Locals have had April 2nd circled on their calendars for months. This divine date marks the return of the Marietta Farmers Market. This wonderful showcase for local farmers, bakers, chefs - you name it -returns for the 2011 season. 2010 was the Marietta's Farmers Market most successful season yet and they plan on this season to be even bigger. The market has an average of 60 vendors featuring Georgia grown, made or produced products, including vegetables that are rarely, if ever, available from the grocery store.
The Farmers Market also has lots of the staples such as potatoes, onions, tomatoes, squash, beans, amazing cut flower arrangements, local honey, herbal soaps, whole grain breads, fudge pies, jelly, jam and preserves. And for the dog lovers, All Natural and Organic dog biscuits. Customers can also take home many live garden, yard and culinary herb plants, not to mention fresh squeezed lemonade.
The Marietta Square Farmers Market will again be located on the Historic Marietta Square, taking up residence on North Park Square, between Shillings Restaurant and The Strand Theater. The Market is open Saturday morning no later than 9 am to 12 pm. Selling begins as each individual vendor sets up no later than 9 am. Plenty of FREE parking available all day Saturday.
