Piermont is one of several river towns in Rockland County, New York. It is a quaint and picturesque village. I have lived in Rockland County since 1972, and I have always enjoyed my trips to Piermont, whether to enjoy the fabulous art galleries, listen to music at the Turning Point Restaurant, or eat at one of the many delightful restaurants, including the five star Xaviar's.

Commuting
There are many convenient commuter options when living in Piermont. Piermont is 5 minutes from the Tappan Zee Bridge, which leads to roadways that take you to Westchester, Connecticut or New York City. It is also only 15 minutes from the George Washington Bridge which leads into New York City. The car trip to Manhattan is about 30 minutes, without traffic. In addition, there is a bus that takes you from Piermont to NYC. There are also many other parkways close to Piermont, including the NYS thruway, (I-87) which, if taken west, leads to the Palisades Interstate Parkway, the Garden State Parkway, and I-287. All these roads can be used to go to various areas of New Jersey.

I am constantly delighted by the beautiful architecture of the homes in this river town.
At the time of the writing of this article, the homes range in price from the low $300,000s to luxury homes as much as $9,500,000. The cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses range in price from $155,000 to $2,500,000.

Restaurants Dining Food Eateries
Piermont has a wonderful variety of restaurants, bistros and cafés!
I have enjoyed the Sidewalk Café, dining outside on the sidewalk, (of course), on a beautiful Spring or Fall day. You may even enjoy doing this in the summer, but for me, indoor dining, in air-conditioning, works best on those hot, humid days!
I have been to Xaviars exclusive restaurant and the food is haute cuisine at its best!

Piermont has a place to rent kayaks and canoes for you to explore the Piermont marshes. It is called Paradise canoe and kayak.
