Government buying homes!?!

By
Real Estate Agent with Want To Go Home Realty

Let your BAH work for you!  Let the GOVERNMENT buy YOUR HOME!

Make the most of your BAH and become a homeowner and leave the renter lifestyle behind, forever!  Combine your BAH with your VA home loan to buy a house near Ft Bragg/Pope Army Air Field.

A lot of potential homeowners tell me "we/I don't know how long I am going to be stationed here".  I certainly understand this concern.  When PCS'ing to any new military installation, no one knows how long they are going to be stationed there, but that doesn't mean home ownership cannot be a possibility.

What about on post housing?  On post housing is just giving your BAH back to the government.  Let me give you an example:

Your BAH is $1400 a month, your mortgage is $800, the difference is $600 that you can pay your utilities, etc.  If you live on post, you are giving that money away.  Why would anyone do that?

What happens if/when I get PCS orders?  There are 2 possibilities:  You can sell your home or you can rent your home.  If you choose to sell your home, make sure you give your REALTOR® plenty of notice so that he/she can get it on the market with enough time to sell and close before you PCS.

Ginny,

Nice way to reach out to the military community! #-4 years is almost at the early average homeowners move anyway. If they held on to the home as a rental, they could have a good net income soon as well as a gov't pension!

BTW, I LOVE your picture with the flag backdrop! Hope you have a great weekend!
