St Pete Celebrates the Rays

It's no April Fool's day joke!!  The Tampa Bay Rays season home opening game at Tropicana Field against the Baltimore Orioles is sold out. It's the sixth consecutive season the Rays have sold out the home opener.

All fans will receive a season schedule magnet.

David Price will be starting pitcher for the Rays against the Orioles pitcher Jeremy Guthrie.  David Price, last season's AL Cy Young Award runner-up , will become the 13th pitcher in league history to make starts on opening day, in an All-Star game and during the postseason by the age of 25. (Atlanta's Tom Glavine was the last to do it & that was 20 years ago.) Despite having one of the lowest payrolls in the major leagues, the Rays have won 2 of the last 3 divisonal titles.

The 2010 AL East winners lost Carl Crawford, Matt Garza and Carlos Pena but  gained former Boston Red Sox teammates Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez.  Could be a great season-so, let's get ready to PLAY BALL!!!

Game starts at 7:10 pm, April 1st, 2011 at Tropicana Field
