Rosemount, MN to become cat sanctuary

By
Industry Observer

According to the Rosemount city website, stray cats will be free to roam the city with no consequence.  On March 15, the Rosemount City Council voted to stop licensing cats and to no longer impound strays.  The changes also allow cats to roam free in the city with no consequence to owners.  They will apparently be free to do whatever cats do, including kill thousands of songbirds, procreate, and spread diseases like rabies and feline distemper.

Of course, if you have a cat you don't want, Rosemount could become a popular drop-off destination.  I would hope that people would consider any of a number of cat rescue organizations, but Rosemount is certainly an option that some will choose.
