Commuting
Commuting from Suffern, New York is very easy. There is a wonderful and reliable train to Secaucus, NJ or Hoboken, NJ, which I took for 14 years when I worked in lower Manhattan, for AT&T. This train offers a very comfortable commute. From Hoboken, I took the Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) line to lower Manhattan and that is still available and very convenient for going into Manhattan. There is another branch of the PATH train that takes you to 34th Street and 8th Avenue. Suffern also has an express bus that goes into the NY Port Authority building, at 41st Street and 8th Avenue, and this is another easy way to get into NYC. There are many highways leading from Suffern, NY, including the NYS thruway (I-87), the Palisades Parkway (PIP), the Garden State Parkway, and I-287. These highways make it easy to commute to Bergen County and Morris County, NJ, Westchester, NY, and Connecticut.

I love this library. In the winter, I enjoy sitting in the section where there is a fireplace, and reading my newspaper or novel, while rocking in one of the lovely rocking chairs. I have enjoyed staying there for long periods of time, and eating lunch or a snack at the delightful cafe. What a treat it is to have such a great library in our village!

There are many parks in the Town of Ramapo, and the residents of Suffern can enjoy all of them. These parks offer a variety of activities, including swimming, tennis and basketball.
Pools
In addition to the pools available in the cooperative, condominium and townhouse complexes, the Town of Ramapo and Suffern Village each pools available to residents.
Real Estate
There are many cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses to choose from in Suffern, NY and there are a variety of moderately priced and luxury homes in the area.
At the time of the writing of this article, the homes range in price from the low $130,000 to luxury homes as much as $3,995,000. The cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses range in price from $59,500 to $569,900.
