Crestbrook Park Golf Course, Watertown CT is Open for the Season

I got the official announcement in an email and I was elated, the season is upon us, finally. Of course that was on Wednesday of this week.

Then the weatherman forecast a 'Noreaster' for Thursday evening with Litchfield County projected to get the worst at possibly 8" of snow. And sure enough Crestbrook Park is in lower Litchfield County in Watertown CT.

Well, Mother Nature had something to say about that. The flags are in, the course is officially open, but not today because winter just couldn't let it go away quietly. Only a dusting of about an inch of snow. A cruel April Fool's joke to enthusiasts.

A day or so of warm up will clear this away, and there's no more snow forecasted for the immmediate future. Late November sounds about right. To check in advance, the Pro Shop phone number is 860-945-5249.

Ed.. Haven't you learned NEVER listen to the the weathermen... they NEVER get the weather right.  I think today would be a VERY challenging day on the golf course.  Try to find your WHITE ball in the snow... LOL.

Snow is never a pretty sight on a golf course - at least not for a golfer.  My son had an opportunity to play golf on scholarship at Penn State, but he turned it down when he saw cross-country skiers on the golf course when we went for a college visit and instead he headed to Florida.

Valerie, The weatherman was very wrong as we didn't get the full blow they were forecasting.

Ken I don't know about the being a golfer part so much as I enjoy the walk

Leah, the crocuses in the yard were all broken off this morning. they must have died from the snow on them. Where is Spring?

Gloria, all the snow had everything is wet that we're a couple of weeks behind this year

Craig, there's somehting a bit off with your avatar. The hair looks too red and definitely too long!

Margaret you can hardly blame him for not wanting to spend time on the snow instead of the green grass.

Judith, we were hoping to spend time on the course, not looking at more snow.

Boy Ed you guys have gotten hammered this year with snow.  We are all looking for those daffodils!

I used to live in Newtown and work in Westport and we seldom saw snow like the area got this year.

Think spring!

Wanda, we had temps in the 60's today, so somebody hit a golf ball, I opened doors for first time buyers.

Rene, it did a lot of damage to my trees as well. Spent some time picking up limbs this afternoon

Hey A & P, it was actually rather cruel.
