Size DOES matter,

Reblogger Rebecca Reynolds
Real Estate Agent with Right Style Realty 111679

This is one of the many reasons why I use a professional photographer for each and every listing I take. I could take the time to learn techniques as described below but then I'd be a photographer instead of a Real Estate Agent!

when putting your photos in your MLS-Really!

Think Goldilocks:

TOO BIG
and you have two problems:
1) They take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to load.  Buyers get bored waiting and move on to the next listing.
2) Too much compression to make them fit in the alloted space can distort some details.  Ever see houses with clapboard or vinyl siding which looks wavy?-too much photo for the space  Same for photos with dark shadows around all the edges, not just in the corners of the room-too much photo for the space.

Large front

TOO SMALL
and it looks fuzzy, grainy, blurry, pixelly, pick your expression.  I like Bad.  They just look bad when they are too small.
Small front

and finally, we have
JUST RIGHT
I size my photos for my clients in two sizes; Web/MLS optimized and Print Quality.
Our web photos are 1000px wide, proportions constrained and 72 ppi
Print photos are 4x6, 300 ppi

Medium front
