Spring snowstorm pounds Iosco County
East Tawas - send the groundhog, with its inaccurate prediction of an early spring, to meteorology school, as Iosco County was blasted with hugh amounts of heavy snow last week.
The wintry mix filled streets, blanketed fields and clogged driveways, just 3 days after the official start of spring.
The storm, which hit last Wednesday, left Iosco County covered in a layer of snow from 8 to 12 inches deep, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
