Rewarding and Challenging: An Occupied Master

By
Home Stager with The Staging Fashionista

I've been staging alot of occupieds lately and it has been both rewarding and challenging to say the least.  Rewarding in that you truly can see the fruits of your labor and what a difference you made in someone's home.  Challenging in the sense that it is hard for homeowners to part with their belongings and treasures and many times I'm working and stumbling around things because the home owner didn't have time to complete their to do post staging list.  So here are some pics of my rewarding & challenging occupied master bedroom we staged in Fairfax Station, VA.  Stay tuned for more pics from this lovely 5 acre home.

Mannie- I love staging occupied homes because it is a challenge to work with what you have.  It doesn't have to be perfect to work... you did a great job on these!

Hi Kathy - occupied definitely get your creativity flowing and it really makes you think about the space and how to work with what the owner has.  Thanx for stopping by.

Occupied homes are 50% of my business and they can be a challenge!  And I think that's particularly true with Master Bedrooms.  I'm usually asking them to purchase new bedding (I don't supply "soft goods" for my occupied stagings) and that is a big change for most of them....but a HUGH reward as with your staging...nice update.

Hi Mannie--I love occupied staging, but do agree with you about how hard it is for people to part with their things.  I love how they have the dressers piled on to that one wall between the master bathroom and the master closet.  Nice work.  Can't wait to see the rest of the pics.

Hi Kathy - I do the same thing but I just pick out the comforter for them!  It's amazing how a comforter can change the entire feel and look of a room!

HI Janet - I now when I saw both the dressers on one wall I was thinking what in the world?  Simply moving it and decluttering made a huge difference.  Thanx for stopping by and stay tuned for the next set of pics!

Hi Barb - Thank you so much for the nice words I think it does look fresh!
