68-acre senior complex planned for Firestone, an article from the Longmont Daily Times-Call, reports that developer Bill Leary, out of Fort Collins, has decided to build an all-inclusive senior community on 68 acres in Firestone. The project is called McHale Ranch and will include a nursing home on-site. Firestone's planning commission recommended approval on September 25 and the project will now go before the Firestone Town Board on October 11. Leary hopes to begin breaking ground in a year and have homes ready 7 or 8 months after that.

Construction spending posts small increase, an article from MSNBC.com, reports that construction spending posted a bigger-than-expected .2% gain in August. According to the Commerce Department, the August increase pushed total construction spending to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.166 trillion.
