Yesterday I was sitting on the couch when I noticed my Golden Retriever coming down the stairs with something in his mouth. He came over and played Keep Away for a minute or two, then relinquished the paper.

I looked at what he brought me and it was a gorgeous brochure for the "springunveiling" Art Festival weekend at Cannon Beach, OR--our favorite coastal town to go to for celebrations!
Well, it seemed that there must've been a bit of dog-divine intervention going on here! My birthday is mid April and this festival is the next week (April 29-May 1st) and we always stay at our favorite dog-friendly hotel, the SurfSand Resort Hotel AND we love to buy artwork in Cannon Beach so it all spelled out M-A-K-E T-H-E C-A-L-L!
Afterwards, I got to thinking about how often people ask me about what coastal towns to visit when they are looking at buying property here at Fishhawk Lake and I always mention Cannon Beach as a perfect destination that's only an hour away.

So, I decided to e-mail the gallery group who put this stunning full-color piece together (knowing how much work this took and how much money) to compliment them on it and tell them that I will be coming and taking photos and putting together a "localism" article to send out on my blogs with pictures as well as content once I get back from the festival.
I told the gallery group in an e-mail how special Cannon Beach is to my husband and I and how many art pieces we've collected from different artists and galleries in our travels there. We even bought a very large giclee piece of Jeffrey Hull's that he and his wife personally delivered and hung for us last fall. We took them out on our boat and gave them a tour of Fishhawk Lake--a place they'd never been to before, even though it's only an hour from Cannon Beach!
This is a painting of Haystack Rock (Haystack Rock at Sunset) by Jeffrey Hull, hanging in our "Lake Room".

This is the first of at least two articles I will write about this terrific destination, Cannon Beach, OR as well as the many opportunities to buy art.
Hope to see you there! (Or visit me "virtually, once I get the photos and article written in May about the "springunveiling art festival weekend").
