Anne and I decided to go for a drive up the Columbia River Gorge and ended up
at Skamania Lodge. We had a relaxing time eating lunch by one of two awesome fireplaces.
Their Sunday Brunch is more than outstanding.
The Columbia River Gorge is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities. Wind surfing on the Columbia River is world famous. During the day, we drove through Bingen, Washington, crossed over to Hood River, Oregon and ended up at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, back on the Washington side of the Columbia. The Columbia River Gorge is a natural beauty that was carved out by the Columbia River thousands of years ago. The Gorge starts just a few miles east of the Portland International Airport. You see an immediate change in the weather and habitat.
You may be surprised to know that Google and Insitu are nestled in the Gorge. The area offers the perfect balance of work and fun for engineers and high tech thinkers. t
