Escondido Home SellerWant to sell your home in San Marcos, Escondido and beyond? Do you want top dollar for your home, but don’t have the money necessary to paint and clean the carpets? Well, if that’s the case, then this post is for you. Here are two tips for preparing your home for sale that’ll cost you less than ten dollars (yes, less than ten bucks):

  1. Buy a box of Mr. Clean® Magic Eraser Sponges. Magic Eraser is an amazing product. You can brighten your home and clean your walls, baseboards, floors, switch plates, and blinds, so that they look like new again. The Magic Eraser easily removes scuff marks and dirt. It’s a water-activated sponge that can remove just about any dirt from any surface.
  2. Buy some Glade® candles. These candles are sold at the supermarket, Walmart, Target and just about anywhere where you can buy groceries and cleaning products. They burn for about 22 hours each, and they have a wonderful scent that may just put the kibosh on any unpleasant odors.

While fresh paint and clean carpet are often recommended when listing your home for sale, it is often that folks cannot afford to spend on those changes right now. But, purchasing the Magic Eraser (and using a little bit of elbow grease) and the Glade® candles will go a long way towards shedding the best light on your San Marcos or Escondido home for sale.

Add bleach in a spray bottle. For that little tan stain on the ceiling from a toilet over flow. The one that makes the buyer immediately look up, at each other and think "needs a roof". Or from an actual roof leak stain that remains but the roof was replaced last year. Don't have to paint the entire ceiling, just two or three squirts over a couple day period will make it disappear, blend in with the rest of the ceiling. This trick is so big in returns, home perceptions.

I loved scented candles and I think they are a great idea for home scents.  Also I am going to try a box of Mr. Cleans Magic Erasers. I usually use elbow grease to get my stuff clean.

Hi Melissa - I had not heard of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers but have just found that they are sold in Canada.  I'll see how it works out.  it seems like a good product based on the description.

I never recommend any scented candles or anything else that is scented because I know a number of people who are extremely sensitive and/or allergic to many types of scents.
