ActiveRain.com - Worth Reading for Current Real Estate Statistics?

Probably not from what I've recently seen. Since first stumbling upon and actually reading Activerain.com posts back in 2007 with my So I was Bored Post, I'll admit I was instantly sucked in to Activerain.com.

Not so much for points and rankings ...but because there was some REALLY GOOD posts on CURRENT real estate information at that time. Real estate information that I was searching for on Google that led me to Activerain.

Of course... being who I am.... I had to comment a little on some Featured posts back then that really had nothing worth featuring.... and guess what... I got featured. A big whopping 12 comments for my featured post. WHOO HOO Baby!!!

Quite Humerus actually considering that until that time, most early blogs on sites were market condition reports. Information that buyers were looking for and not blog posts on how agents dressed, the suspected lady of the night that lived in the building and favorite hats to hear. (Interesting to read when you are bored... but no actual real estate substance.)

What Real Estate Agents Want to Write on their Blog is their Bussiness

Hey it's your blog. Whatever you want to write on it, go ahead and write it. It's just my opinion but Featured Blog Posts should focus on current real estate events taking place...information that Real Estate Buyers, sellers and real estate agents are going to find in their local news headlines and hopefully can find BETTER answers from Real Estate Professionals on a central real estate Hub such as Activerain.

I've noticed a trend lately with Activerain.com and it really has nothing to do with the current challenges taking place.

The Lamestream Media is CRUSHING ActiveRain.com when it comes to today's information.... even if the real estate information from the Lamestream media is NOT GOOD.

I think this has been pretty much the case for the last several times I've popped into ActiveRain.com to see what is going on. I really don't have the time to go through all of the blog posts being posted for the day but I do have time to scan the Featured Posts and whoever is doing the featuring seems to be ignoring current condition reports.

Considering the Latest Case-Shiller reports came out with some negative news that can easily be explained... I find it interesting that I have not seen one Featured Post on ActiveRain explaining what is taking place place and why the results are being reported like they are. I'm sure somebody on AR has blogged about it.... I just have not seen it under the Featured Posts column.

Are The Real Agent Agents in the Trenches Getting The Right Message on current Stats Across?

When it comes to real estate information the local media can not even compare to the numerous sites out there when it comes to real estate. Yet...  even in this day and age, when it comes to real estate information... the career journalists are still beating out the real estate agents where buyers and sellers are getting their information from.

And from what I've seen, Activerain.com has actually taken a step backwards in helping to change this.
