Commerce in the West Kootenays is booming. We have Teck doing some major expansions, and with that, Teck is hiring in some major numbers. Firebird Technologies has moved into their brand new building in Fruitvale and is hiring for an expanded workforce. The Waneta Dam project is well under way. We are seeing personnel come into town, from labourers on up through management to work on this 4 1/2 year project.
