What a crazy question.
Many times as adults we cannot sleep at night. There are reasons for this and our mind is just racing as we slumber. One of the reasons we cannot sleep is anxiety. Maybe our mind is so looking forward to doing something that it cannot rest so we toss and turn in bed trying to fight what is inevitable. So what to do? Get up and do something that is productive so that you feed and more importantly ease your mind (and don't answer emails or surf the web). Do a load of laundry, pack a lunch, unload and load the dishwasher, make a grocery list, do something. If you live alone; vacuum the floors, clean out your closet, hang a picture, clean the bathrooms, just do something.
This morning I awakened at 4:30am, I usually ,sleep until 5:30 or 6:00am so I had some extra time to be productive. I went into my home office and started shredding, throwing things away, organizing, shredding old files, placing books back into the bookcase, and realizing that I have 5 printers. I have 3 for the garage sale, I am keeping the color laser and my old reliable Samsung that prints 8 pages a minute but the print is so gorgeous it looks like a professional printer did it on a press.
Well in 2 hours of not so hard work, my office is almost clean; not as cluttered as before, somewhat organized, and more importantly I can open the door without shoving my way in. Oh, I have 2 large shredders too, I thought I had donated the one a long time ago but no.
Anyway, my mind is at ease and it is time to go to the office knowing that my home office is in better condition than before and I did not have to toss and turn in bed for 2 more hours this morning. So, do something to ease your mind when it is calling you. I run three businesses so my mind is always going and when it does I want to ease it by doing something productive.
Make it a great day out there and remember that your brain is always working and follow what it is telling you; when to work, when to sleep, when to eat, when to play. Take Care everyone.
