I was reading today about an overcrowded clinic that had standing room only in a waiting room. They unveiled plans to build a new expanded one. The big point in the article was how it would have a large "welcome area" with flat screen TV's. Obviously a new word for waiting area or more like holding pen. I have never felt calm in the waiting area of any doctor's office or hospital.
With this new term or sound bite "welcome area", I was thinking of our office. We have what we call the "Fire Side Room. We actually run a real wood fire here about 9 months a year. Its inviting, has comfortable chairs and displays out listings. It also has coffee, water and several kinds of tea. We only use it in short time frames when an agent needs to finish a call in their private office or in my case sweep the dirt under the rug and hide the clutter before I invite them in. This is because they showed early or just dropped in. Agents do live at their desk 40 hours a week, waiting for clients, Right? What is your "Welcome Area" like?
