I had the pleasure of playing in a senior hockey tournament in Flint, Mi. last weekend. It is one of the areas longest running tournaments at 26 years and counting. While we had great fun and were victorious in the over 40/45 group (congrats to sponsor Sonny's Landscaping & Snow Removal of S. Rockwood, MI.) it was being introduced to the Whaley Children's Center that has left a lasting impression. The Vehicle City International Oldtimers Hockey Tournament has been a big supporter and fundraiser for the center and it was at a fund raising event on Sunday that I got to meet several of their volunteers and was impressed by the passion for what they do. I know this is a little out of context from the normal real estate stuff but I thought these people deserved a mention as their work with children and families in crisis is as much admirable as it is needed. If you are from the mid-michigan area check them out as they have events throughout the year that you might enjoy attending. I have included a link to their web page if you would like more information as well.
