What do you expect from your preferred mortgage lender or originator?

I am wanting to get some feedback from real estate agents in regards to what they look for in the mortgage company they refer their clients to??? Are you typically committed to one lender or broker or do you refer your clients to multiple companies to see who has the best deal? As a Branch Manager and Loan originator I have found that answers on this topic can vary quite a bit.......Please share your personal opinions and what is the most important thing you look for when selecting a mortgage company to refer your clients to. I have always been a true believer in the phrase "Under Promise and Over Deliver" and most importantly to MAKE SURE YOUR AGENTS BUYERS ARE PRE-APPROVED BEFORE WASTING EVERYONES TIME!

I expect my lender/partner to take responsibility for the things that they should be in charge of.  When it comes to deadlines my least favorite thing a lender can do is to disappear at the 11th hour.  When a file is in trouble and a lender does that to me and to the client I represent, it is the last time they will receive a business referral from me.

Actually, the  best deal is last on the list.  When I refer my clients to a mortgage pro, I am looking for reliable and honest communication, along with detailed qualification so that loans have little chance of falling apart.

Keith, Thank you sir. I liked your page as well. If you ever need a good lender in Maryland, let me know. I have another branch located in Cockeysville that does a great job.
