Turn in your neighbors and your friends. Make a few bucks for doing so.

In a move that would make any big government lover ecstatic, the IRS just handed out its first big whistle blower reward. Not sure if they posted a wanted poster of the "big business" in question, but sure enough, they paid an accuntant who turned in the "mean big business", $4.5M big ones.

The business that had failed to properly pay all of its taxes is now into the IRS for $20M and some change. The IRS has stated that is will pay between 15 and 30% in big tax cases. In the case above, the guy got 22% of the "stolen" taxes.

And the funniest part, at least to me. The IRS took out 28% of the guys loot, for taxes of course.

Wow that is a whopping amount of money. And of course they will get their share.

I'm not a big fan of whistleblowers unless what is being done is a real danger to the greater good.  Don't get me started about the IRS.  I know the Fed needs money but our tax laws are nutty.

A good argument for toeing the line when it comes to dealing with the IRS and taxes. The penalties are just too severe to do anything else.
