Who is the Most Awesome Person Today?

My Version of ActiveRain's Daily "Member Spotlight" (Part XII)

Who is the most awesome person today?

It's that time of the week again folks!

As promised, I've decided to make 2011 a year in which I introduce you, my dear readers, to a Rainer who you might not know, but probably should.

ActiveRain posts a "Member Spotlight" in their "Daily Drop" newsletter. This is my version...

For this week's post, that person is ActiveRain's very own:

  Brad Andersohn

Brad Andersohn

Now I know that many of you already know Brad, but with so many new members recently, I'm certain there are some of you who do not, or are not subscribed to his blogs.

Brad is not only one of the most subscribed to bloggers, he's also one of the most helpful folks you'll come across here in the Rain. In fact, Brad is the reason I'm blogging today. You can thank him or chastise him now! But it was a phone call from Brad that shaped my thoughts about ActiveRain and blogging. (Side note: If the AR staff wants me to speak at a RainCamp and tell this story, I'd be honored to do so!)

OK. OK. I'm back... Brad. Right. Brad called me and blew my mind about the power of SEO, ActiveRain, blogging, and the reason why I should be participating in the Rain. He was so gung-ho and I respected his enthusiasm so much, that I thought I needed to give it a try.

Here's a picture of Brad making that now infamous phone call...

Brad Andersohn - Geek by day. Rock Star by night!

Yes, folks it's true. While Brad may be a geek by day, Brad is a Rock star who can shred by night...

Brad Andersohn - Geek by day. Rock Star by night!

Anyway folks, if you aren't already subscribed to Brad's blog you need to go and do that right now. We'll wait. (insert Jeopardy theme here as we wait for you to return.)

I haven't actually had the opportunity to meet Brad, but we've spoken on the phone and emailed back and forth lots. I look forward to meeting Brad at RainCamp this year. Brad is a great guy with a heart of gold. And I consider him my friend...

And, because he's my friend, Brad gets to wear the "Craig Rutman Lucky Sweater" this week!

Brad Andersohn - The Most Awesome Person of the Day!

Here's to you Brad Andersohn, the "Most Awesome Person of the Week"!

Next week's spotlight will be on.... YOU!

Yes, you!

Ginny - I'd debate you if I thought you were wrong Ginny!

Ellie - Everybody suits the sweater Ellie!

Tom - And awesome he is. Head on over to one of the RainCamps and he'll probably be there.

Dorie - The only gripe I had with the RainCamp I attended was that Brad wasn't there. But it looks like I'll be at the one in ChiTown and hopefully he'll attend too.

Dawn - Geek by day. Rock star by night! That's our Brad!

Sharon - Thank you Sharon! I'm humbled by your kind words.

Frank & Karen - Come to the one in Chicago Karen. Leave Frank home! ;)

Laura - Did you just dis the Craig Rutman Lucky sweater by equating it to "traveling pants"?!!! There will be repercussions for that!

Andrea - Really now Andrea, who doesn't look good in the Craig Rutman Lucky sweater?!!!

Mark - You should definitely be subscribing to Brad. He's a plethora of knowledge AND he shares it freely.

Gay - Thank you Gay. You know my goal.... Keep my friends smiling. And that Michael character. He's one in a million. Which means there are about 13,000 of him in China..... Ooooh, that's a scary thought!

Nick - It was only a matter of time before Brad received this high honor my friend. With 205,000 members, it might take some time to get to everyone.

Endre - I hear you loud and clear Endre. Brad's one special kind of guy.

Don - Just remember Don. Too much of everything is just enough! But a double dose of the sweater just might be too much for one human to bear.

Don - Thank you sir. And as long as I keep getting this kind of response, I'll keep writing them.

Mary - Ha! Ha! Ha! Glad you can't decide which picture is making you laugh more! That was part of the goal here.

Praful - Brad is one of the most subscribed to bloggers here in the Rain for a reason. Anyone not subscribed to him is missing out on some great stuff.

Marc - It's never easy getting the sweater back from past recipients. Not only do they enjoy the successes and luck it brings, they know how wonderful they look in it too!

Larry & Sheila - It was only a matter of time before Brad received this high honor. This was his week.

Donna - Really now Donna, who doesn't look good in the Craig Rutman Lucky sweater?!!! Don't check out Brad's blog. SUBSCRIBE to it! Unlike subscribing to my blog, you won't regret it!

Craig this is so awesome! I've had the pleasure of meeting and actually hanging out with Brad on several occasions and he is an incredible person. It is funny that someone with so much "geek" knowledge can also be a total Rocker, family man and all around good guy!

Hope you are doing well in your world!

Brad is a dear friend of mine and certainly deserves to be featured by each and every one of us!  He has helped make AR what it is today and what's so awesome about Brad is that he truly cares-it's not just his 'job' to help!  Which, of course, it no longer is but, he reached out to so many members when he was with AR; he encouraged us to follow simple protocol which brought those consumer phone calls in.  In a struggling market, he taught us how to be winners and I love Brad for what he did for my business.  We hung out in NOLA during NAR week this year and believe me, those wheels never stop turning, nor does Brad ever stop being a nice guy.

Great feature, Craig and hugs to you, Brad--you're the best!

Craig - I'll be looking forward to getting my sweater at RainCamp this year!!!!!

On a more serious note, (but I do want my sweater...lol)  while you give so many kudos to myself and others, it's really members like you that inspire and motivate people like me.  Your zest and ambitious drive, your caring for others, your humor and creative skills, talent, and gifts are really what make ActiveRain the "ULTIMATE" online place to be. It's because you're here that I'll continue to return.

It's people like you Craig that make the culture here on ActiveRain not only attractive, but fun!  Thanks for selecting me as the "avatar" of the week, but also as your friend.  That friendship goes way beyond mention and will last longer than any blog post ever written out on the web. I'm proud to have you as a friend! Thank you for just being you and for accepting, respecting, and allowing me to be me.  I love you man!

BIG BEAR HUG when we finally do meet in person...

To everyone else who commented, I'm touched and deeply moved by your words and comments. Thank you sincerely with ALL my heart.

Russell - I'm looking forward to that day I get to meet the Rocking Geek, Brad Andersohn. Oh, and all is good in my world... everyone understands me there!

Debe - I think you summed it up when you said he truly cares-it's not just his 'job' to help. It's obvious to everyone who knows him and hopefully more will as a result of this post.

Brad -

Ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses as we toast the man of the hour...

BRAD ANDERSOHN!

Brad, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't even be here. I lead generate for at least 2 hours a day. And before I incorporated ActiveRain into my lead generation, it was the most dreaded part of my day.
Now, it's the part of my day I look forward to most.
I can't thank you enough for your enthusiasm in that initial phone call. It was your gusto that inspired me to work at this thing called blogging.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you, not so much the hugging part, but definitely meeting you!

I'll bring the sweater!

Craig, besides myself, Brad is definitely a great choice. He made a stellar presentation at RainCamp Atlantic City, and in the changed format they had on day 2 he was most informative. His son has recently gotten signed to a record contract, so he was very proud to offer that as well, especially as he got his chance because of something he posted on YouTube.

Ed - Yes! Of course! Besides you, Brad was an excellent choice! I'm really looking forward to meeting him and being further inspired by him. I knew his son was experiencing some success with the band, but I didn't know he signed a record deal! I'll have to hear all about it at RainCamp.

Craig--Another excellent choice!  So often when I need help with something, it is one of Brad's post that pops up with the information.  There is something I have been wondering about....I understand what an honor it is to wear the Craig Rutman lucky sweater, but do all of these people put it on willingly or do you help?
