Examining the Real Estate Model-Part 2
In a strong seller's market it's much easier to sell a home. In recent years many Bay Area homes have been selling over the asking price in a week or two and with multiple offers. With record high median prices, it's not surprising that many would flock to the industry to get a piece of the action. Unfortunately, the market has changed and many of the start-up virtual companies may find it difficult to attract clientele. While the temptation to hire a bargain basement company may be attractive given a decrease in available equity, that's just the opposite of what a seller should be considering. Putting your best foot forward in a declining market is critical--read "Getting Maximum Exposure for your home" for more detailed discussion.
Full service agents will argue that there's more to selling your home than inputting into the MLS or simply throwing it on-line somewhere. While virtual on-line companies must insist that's all there is to it. What's the real answer?
