Simple Math Behind ActiveRain Membership!

Did you read a recent post from Kerrie about new guidelines for ActiveRain membership?

I am sure you have. It was featured (of course, it should be) and was re-blogged by me and several other members.

So, what do you think after reading that post? Doesn't it sound simple to be a member of
ActiveRain community? More points you accumulate on ActiveRain , less the subscription - and it is AUTOMATIC! No worries. (If need be, you can call a LIVE help, too!)

Still complicated? Still not sure how long will it take to reach a FREE account? Let me make it simple.

Being Engineer, by default, I am analytical. So, here is my analysis.

You can get up to about 5,000 points every week - if you are a consistent blogger. Simply write 10 posts and re-blog 10 posts every week, login daily for you 10 comments and that's it! Every 5 months or less, you can accumulate 100,000 points. With many bonuses and contests floating around (please join the group ActiveRain Contests), you are likely to achieve this landmark in about 2 years or less.

(Ask Barbara Todero - she has set a record for the quickest 500K, to best of my knowledge - and like Energizer Bunny, she is going on..and on..and on...).

And how much would it cost? Much less than what one would pay an SEO company to keep you on page 1 of Google.

But there is a simple RULE you must follow:

YOU MUST BE CONSISTENT IN BLOGGING! (Well, I have not missed a single point since I became serious about blogging on AR - and yes, I have written down my goals for
ActiveRain. Call me crazy!)

Well that was for people who are point conscious. Do you realize what other benefits you can get from blogging on
ActiveRain? Well, it could be your picture - on right of the ActiveRain page, holding a check. And, even more important, you will be 'recognized' on the web. If you do everything right, you'll be on page #1 of Google, Bing and Yahoo!.

Playing in rain is fun!

For all the details on ActiveRain Subscription, please do read my re-blog

or....the original price-break post from Kerrie.

Kerrie, please take it over from here....Thanks.

Praful,

Your correct, if your consistent on those basics you can rack up a large amount of points very quickly. So now we are back again to points matter. Arrrrr....

I'm thrilled about the new program!  AR has definitely boosted my web presence, and now the points actually have a dollars and cents meaning to me.  Am I motivated to use it more?  Absolutely!

#10 has a good point.  There has to be dedication to writing 'meaningful' posts that won't bore the consumer to death. A few words just to rack up points will not bring any business. Barbara, Lenn and a few others who have wrote consistent, informative, meaningful posts have proved that....therefore, the readership.

You can also write more than 10 posts per week and when those extra posts get comments you'll earn more points.  It's all about writing lots of good content and building a steady group of subscribers.

Thanks Praful!  That was so thoughtful of you to point out the break-down -- it might give people an incentive to blog more just to reduce their bill while they are building their business!  I have to agree with some of the comments though, writing 10 well-written and interesting blogs a week seems like a very significant time commitment.  Maybe it gets easier the more you do it.

HI Praful - I had missed Kerrie's post b/c I'd been gone on vacation for the last week and a half but I like what they've come up with. Sounds a lot more doable than what I had heard floating around out there. Best of lluck on reaching ALL of your goals! :)

Praful:

I started commenting and blogging with a point count in mind.  That made it easier for me to be consistent.  I have reached 2 goals in my 4 months and am on my way to my next big goal.  But, I don't think I can blog 10 times a week.  Now that I know I have to do 10 blogs a week to reach my next goal, I have to ramp things up.  I do try to participate in every contest I can and the points do mount up faster.  Thanks for sharing.  I needed it.
