Face lift your room!

Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster Real Estate Inc 610-225-7400 PA License - AB067198

Any time of year can be a great time to spruce up your home - with new colors, new styles, even a few new furniture and accessory pieces to breathe life and energy into a tired old space!

Here are a few great ideas - guaranteed to "uplift" any tired room!

1.  Lighten and Brighten!  Declutter!  What a great word!  Try clearing your rooms of excessive clutter - even consider downsizing your precious collections.  Brighten your floors with a new area rug!  Change out your window treatments to lighten your room!  Add a few accent pillows to your furniture for a fresh new look.

2.  Try a new color scheme!  How about adding an accent wall to a room...perhaps in a shade or two darker than the room's other three walls?  Or consider block painting a wall for more visual interest.  It's amazing what a fresh new color scheme can do to uplift your room, and give you a totally new outlook on life in the process!

3.  Add some fresh new pattern to your décor.  Perhaps it's time to consider replacing that tired, worn looking sofa!  Smart fabric choices of bold stripes, botanicals, leafy patterns or geometric designs would definitely add some spice to your décor!

4. Refresh your accessories!  A new lamp - or lampshade, might just brighten up one dark corner in your room.  Perhaps a new piece of art - or the addition of an exciting piece of sculpture might just set the tone for a wonderful fresh room makeover!

Whatever your pleasure, consider breathing a little life into your tired interior.  You won't be sorry, once your new look is complete!!

Thanks once again to Deb Betcher of Decorating Den Interiors for this article. As I have broker classes all this week this has been a great help.

Nick & Trudy,

This is our mantra at Turning Point, Brighten it up. The choice to feel as if living in a cave may have been fine for you, the owner, but probably will not appeal as much to a potential buyer..

We have found hiring an interior designer or colour specialist can really make a wonderful difference to the homes appeal.

Use a professional, things just work out better

Great suggestions. Most of what you discuss in your writing is fairly simple to accomplish. Thanks for the post.

Dear Nor and other realtor colleagues,

Please also pass on to your clients the importance of calling on a professional decorator to make the most of their precious new home. Although they could dabble around doing it themselves, the end result often fails to be coordinated or balanced in a way that is satisfying. Not to mention costly mistakes that would have been avoided if planned by a savvy decorator.http://deborah.decoratingden.com/
